Who Are We?
My name is Jean-Bastien, in 2022 i was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa. suddenly i was no longer a normal 19 year old with his whole life ahead of him to a visually impaired person in a world with little knowledge of my condition and a ticking clock on my vision.
No one else should have to live through this, and with your help this doesnt have to be the case!
How We Help the Blind…
More than 2 million people are loosing their sight because of genetic conditions like mine. conditions like Retinitis Pigmentosa and Stargardt Disease are often not detected early and no treatment is available at the moment, At The Vision Initiative we are changing that!
While new .. The innovative Cure to genetic conditions Is Here! with genetic manipulation such as CRISPR-9, we can eradicate these conditions, stopping the progression of vision loss. this could change the world for those people but the research to develop this technology is lacking funding.
At the Vision Initiative we help fund this research. We want the possibility for millions of people to keep there sight, real in our lifetimes.
How We Help Locally
It all begins with one of our trips, where as I travel the world I find the beauty of the world and spread awareness about vision loss.
During these trips I spend weeks at a time travelling and meeting lots of amazing people, from the valleys of Nepal to the Scottish Highlands. we find and photograph the amazing wonders and cultures for our cause.
So to give back to the places which gave us so much, we help fund local dissability and sustainability initiatives.
